Carnival of Soul Events & Workshops
Come One, Come All!
Carnival of Soul workshops are live, community-based learning experiences designed to teach practical intuitive skills—through structure, play, and shared exploration.
Teach Yourself Tarot Workshop
Our Teach Yourself Tarot is a welcoming, beginner-friendly workshop designed to show you that tarot is not something reserved for psychics or experts—it is a language anyone can learn.
In this class, Jake Prieto guides participants through the story, structure, and symbolism of the tarot so you can begin reading for yourself with confidence. Instead of memorizing hundreds of meanings, you’ll learn how the cards connect through imagery, archetypes, and simple reading structures. By the end, the deck begins to feel less like a mystery and more like a conversation.
During the workshop you’ll explore:
• The story of the Major Arcana and the journey it represents
• How the suits and numbers create meaning in the Minor Arcana
• Simple spreads for everyday guidance
• How to trust your own interpretation of the cards
• Techniques for reading both for yourself and for others
Participants leave with practical tools, a deeper understanding of tarot symbolism, and the confidence to continue learning through their own readings.
Whether you’re opening a deck for the first time or looking to deepen your connection with the cards, this workshop offers a clear and encouraging place to begin.
Because in the end, the greatest tarot reader you can learn from…
is the one already holding the deck.
Teach Yourself Tarot is a beginner-friendly workshop designed to help you start reading tarot with confidence. Instead of memorizing hundreds of meanings, you’ll learn the story, symbolism, and structure behind the cards so the deck begins to make sense naturally.
In this class, Jake Prieto walks participants through the Major Arcana journey, the patterns of the Minor Arcana, and simple spreads you can immediately use for guidance. The goal is to help you understand how tarot works so you can continue learning and reading on your own.
Perfect for complete beginners and surprisingly refreshing for anyone curious about starting their tarot journey.

How It Works
From registration to reading with confidence.
-
Once you register, you’ll receive a confirmation email with workshop details and a digital Tarot syllabus. This gives you a gentle preview—no homework required, just familiarity.
-
On the day of the workshop, we meet live via Zoom in a small-group setting. Cameras are optional, participation is encouraged, and questions are always welcome.
-
We move through Tarot together using guided explanation, shared examples, and hands-on practice. Structure supports intuition here—you’ll learn how the cards relate, not just what they mean.
-
You’ll have time to experiment with spreads, notice patterns, and ask questions as your understanding develops. You’re welcome to screen-record for personal reference as you continue practicing afterward.
-
The workshop doesn’t end when the call does. Tarot is a living language—one you can return to, refine, and use for yourself or others with care and confidence.
